What are the advantages of using nuclear power?

The major advantage of nuclear power is that it is available. The uranium needed to generate it is in plentiful supply, unlike fossil fuels which are in danger of running low or are gettng harder to extract.
Despite the very real dangers, it is on the whole clean - there aren't the constant emissions that come with fossil fuels, and the amount of waste produced, though again deadly if not stored safely, is small in itself. And the number of accidents, and the number of casualties, is still smaller than those caused through other forms of fuel extraction or energy generation.
Nuclear power also makes it easier for governments to plan their energy budgets and needs ahead, since a reactor lasts a long time - over 50 years is now possible in many cases - and is reliable if well maintaned. A reactor is also a relatively small plant and doesn't take up too much space.
