If a woman has two or more husbands at the same time, the marriage is called Polyandry, which is a Greek word with poly meaning many and andras meaning men.

In general, polyandry can be divided into two types: fraternal polyandry and nonfraternal polyandry. Fraternal polyandry is when a woman marries to a group of brothers, which is the most common polyandry. On the other hand, nonfratenal polyandry is when a woman marries to two or more men who are not related.

Polyandry is banned and forbidden by the Hebrew Bible and the Islam law. You can find fraternal polyandry socially practiced in Tibet, northern Nepal, southern India, Nigeria, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and etc.
