Yes, there will be a combination of traditional closing events and special British ones. The ceremony will be held on 12 August and will start with a special musical event entitled 'symphony of British Music' which will involve over 4000 performers and feature mainly British music from the last 50 years.

After that, the traditional Olympic closing ceremony begins. The delegates representing the different countries will enter the stadium, as in the opening ceremony. Then the athletes arrive, but instead of coming in alphabetical order of nationality, at the closing ceremony they come in together, to show international friendship. After that, the flags will be raised of Greece, where the games originated, the UK which is hosting, and Brazil which will host the next event in 2016.

Finally, the Olympic flame is publicly extinguished to signal the end of this year's Games.
