The 2014 Tour de France will start on Saturday 5 July and this year it will start in the UK (in Leeds). This is Tour number 101 and will cover over 3650 km in its 21 stages. As always the stages will include different terrain - as it goes through Britain, France, Belgium and Spain the tour will include 5 hill stages, 6 mountain stages, 5 flat stages and one time trial stage for individual riders. There will also be 2 rest days included.
The tour will include 9 new cities this year including Leeds, Harrogate, Sheffield and York, and Cambridge, in the UK. Other new stages have also been included such as Ypres in Belgium.
It will end on Sunday 27 July, finishing as always on the Champs-Elysees in Paris. You can find a full list of all the stages and other information about the Tour de France here.
