As a prestigious and exclusive "girly" calendar, the first edition of Pirelli Calendar dated back to 1964. The photographer at the time was Robert Freeman who was famous for his album cover photos for The Beatles. The location of the Calendar was set in Majorca, Spain (see photo left). Unfortunately, it was difficult to find the name of the model.

Published by the Pirelli company's UK subsidiary, the Pirelli Calendar features artistic nudes to celebrate female beauty and has been published annually except the period from 1975-1984 due to global financial crisis.

Over the years, many famous models and celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Valeria Mazza, Kate Moss, Eva Riccobono, Malgosia Bela, Naomi Campbell and etc have appeared in the Calendar. You can how the interpretation of female beauty involved over the years here.
