Yes, Laurie Anderson (born Laura Phillips) has been married to Lou Reed since 2008, but the couple have been together for over 20 years.
As well as their separate careers they have often made music together. One of their strangest ideas was a concert for dogs in 2010, with sounds attuned to the hearing of dogs (ie, impossible for most humans to hear!)
Lou Reed has been in the news lately but not for his music (though he is still touring and still selling out venues - you can find details here). In March he became very ill, had to cancel a number of tour dates and needed a liver transplant. The transplant was successful and he is now working again, but of course recovery from an operation like that is slow.
