The only british woman that has won the Wimbledom Grand Slam is Virginia Wade with a victory over Betty Stove of 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the year 1977.
That year her victory was very important because of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Wimbledom but also for the commemoration of the Silver Jubilee (25 years of reign) of the Queen Elizabeth II.
