Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (24th November 1864-9th September 1901) was a french painter, printmaker and illustrator that portraited the bohemian life in Paris in the last years of the 19th century.
He is recognized as one of the members of the Post-Impressionism period. Others artists that were included in that period are Gauguin, Cezanne and Van Gogh.
Toulouse -Lautrec suffered a number of congenital health problems. As a consequence his legs stopped growing even though his torso was of a normal male adult. He was only 1.54 m. tall (5 ft 1 inch).

His short stature and numerous health problems led him to focus his interest in producing art but eventually he started drinking heavily and became alcoholic.

He was a very prolific artist and created around 737 paintings, 5000 drawings and 363 posters.
His most popular artworks are the posters and drawings he made for Moulin Rouge cabaret.
He died in 1901 due to complications of syphilis an alcoholism when he was only 36.
