Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "This cat is like a tiger" in Korean in 3 ways:

  • Informal: i goyang-i-neun horang-i gata (이 고양이는 호랑이 같아)
  • Formal: i goyang-i-neun horang-i gatayo (이 고양이는 호랑이 같아요), i goyang-i-neun horang-i gatseupnida (이 고양이는 호랑이 같습니다)
  • Very Formal: i goyani-neun horang-i gatseupnida (이 고양이는 호랑이 같습니다)

- this: i (이), i-geot (이것)
- cat: goyang-i (고양이)
- like: gatda (같다), gateun (같은)
- tiger: horang-i (호랑이)
