The longest undersea mountain chain is Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which stretches 7,000 miles (11,300 kilometers) down the center of the Atlantic Ocean.
On land, the langest mountain chain is the Andes, which runs for 4,470 miles (7,200 kilometers) down the western edge of South America.
