The Pomodoro Technique is a great productivity and time management tool. Started in the 1980s by Francesco Cirillo, It's a popular technique used all over the world. It's simple, effective, and can be used everywhere, by anyone.

The Pomodoro Technique involves using a timer and timing your work in spurts of one or 2 hours -- aiming for intense work. Start the timer. work for 25 minutes, mark your checklist, take a 5 minute break, and come back to work again.

From the website:

"The basic unit of work in the Pomodoro Technique® can be split in five simple steps:

  1. Choose a task to be accomplished
  2. Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)
  3. Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
  4. Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
  5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break "
