The double World Champion Sebastian Vettel started driving for Red Bull in 2009 when he was 22 years old. He achieved the second place in the 2009 race, which made him the youngest championship runner-up in the world. In 2011, his contract with Red Bull was extended to 2014 with the possibility to 2016.

At the 2007 United States Grand Prix, Sebastian made his Formula One debut by driving for BMW Sauber. At the age of 19, Sebastian finished in 8th to take his first World Championship point, which also made him world's youngest driver to score a point in F1.
