Dame Agatha Christie (15 September 1890 – 12 January 1976) was a British writer of crime and mistery novels. She wrote a total of her 66 detective novels (Murder on The Nile, Ten Little Indians, The Murder at the Vicarage among them) and 14 short story collections.

The most celebrated characters of her stories were detective Hercules Poirot and Miss Jane Marple.

She is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the Best Selling Novelist of all time, having sold an estimate of 4 billion books.

She is also the most translated author.

Her work have been adapted into films, TV series, graphic novels and even video games.
