The art of puppetry in England is an ancient art that probably dates back to the times of the Romans.

There are four main types of puppets in the world:

-marionettes, which function with strings

-hand puppets, which function like a glove

-rod puppets, which function with a stick attached to the hands and feet of the puppet

- shadow puppets, pinched with a knive, flat and made of leather and moved behind a translucent screen

Actually, it is believed shadow puppetry is the oldest form of puppetry in the world, dating back around 1000 years ago and is very famous in Asia, especially in China, India and Indonesia.
