The purpose of detox diets is to remove toxins from your body and thus make you healthier. The process of a detox diet can last from 3 days to 3 weeks depends on the type of detox diet plan you follow.

There are many detox diet methods, so you need to find the one that suits you and fits your main goal whether its weight loss or energy gain. If you have health problems, take medications, or are pregnant, you need to consult your doctor beforehand. In general, detox diets eliminate foods that contain potentially harmful substances such as fat, added sugar, caffeine. On the other hand, foods such as dark, leafy green vegetables that support the body's natural detoxification are allowed in detox diets.

To ensure the detox work, you need to strictly follow the detox diet plans. Here is a simple 10 day detox diet plan that is easy to follow even for the beginners:

  • Day 1 - No food, and drink hot or cold lemon juice that is made by water and lemon only.
  • Day 2 - 3 No food, drink herbal teas and fruit juices
  • Day 4-7 In addition to the drinks allowed from day 1-3, you can have vegetables such as broccoli, beetroot, salad leaves, brussels sprouts and fruits
  • Day 8-10 In addition to the vegetable listed in day 4-7, you can also have fish, eggs, brown rice, chicken, wheat free pasta.
You can combine your detox diet with yoga to achieve a better result.

Detox diets have their fors and cons, and you may experience some side effects. For more about the side effects of detoxing, you can check here.
