The self-cleaning windows use the technology of microcrystalline titanium oxide. It can react to ultraviolet rays in normal daylight, and by coating it on the glass, it can break down and dis-integrates organic dirt on the glass including birds' droppings.

In a rainy day, microcrystalline titanium oxide can repel water, make the water sheet down the glass and carry away the dirt.

The self-cleaning windows are often used for skylights, conservatory roofs, and etc.
