Fabric blinds are usually made into Roman blinds, which are attached to a batten at the top of the window with Velcro and have a series sods sewn at regular intervals along the length of the blind. If you clean your fabric blinds regularly, you don't need to wash or dry cleaning them for years.

Vacuum the fabric blinds twice a week by using the upholstery brush on a low setting.

If vacuuming can not get he dirts off your fabric blinds, you need to bring them to the dry cleaners or wash them depends on the type of the blinds.

For Roman blinds, they must be dry-cleaned by a specialist. While some dry cleaners take Roman blinds intact, the others may ask you to remove the rods from the lining, which you will then have to sew back in after they have been cleaned.

If Roman blinds have blackout linings, dry cleaning may cause shrinkage. So you need to take the linings out before send the blinds to dry cleaners.

For Austrian blinds, you may be able to wash them depends on the fabric.
