The male goliath bird-eating spider (scientific name: Theraphosa blondi) collected by the Pablo San Martin Expedition at Rio Cavro, Venezuela in 1965 is the largest spider in the world. Well, this finding may be limited to the scientific discovery.
The spider had a leg-span of 28 centimetres, which is about the length of an adult male feet.
You can find Theraphosa blondi in the coastal rainforests of Surinam, Guyana and French Guiana.
