What does RTE mean?

RTE stands for Rich Text Editor in the browser. Also it is know as the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. The RTE can provide editing functionalities such as bold, italic, underline, indent, outdent, left align, centre align, right align, undo, redo, superscript, subscript, hyper link and unlink, cut, copy, paste, ordered list, unordered list, insert an image, insert a video, spell checker, and many more.

Although major browsers support it, there are two variants for programming RTE. One is for IE and the others are for Mozilla including FireFox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc.
