A self-cleaning oven does not mean the oven can clean itself automatically. You still have to run the self-cleaning cycle. Always read the manufacturer's instructions carefully first.

The mechanism of a self-cleaning oven is that the oven heats to a high temperature to incinerate any drips, fats or spills, which reduce them into ashes. Once the heating programme is finished, you can use a kitchen tower to wipe out the solid residue and job done. Do not use caustic oven cleaners as they may damage the interior of the oven.
