Sperms swim at 2-3 mm per minute. It seems to be not a lot, but considering the size of sperm (around 0.05mm long), it is still amazing, i.e., 40-60 times their length per minute. Each sperm consists of three parts: A head, a middle piece, and a tail, its a bit like a tadpole. The head part contains all the genetic information, while the middle part provides the energy for the sperm to propel itself along. And the tail switches from side to side as the sperm swims towards the eggs.
