Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "Where is the downtown area?" in Korean in 3 ways:

  • Informal: beonhwaga-ga eodi-ya? (번화가가 어디야?), beonhwaga-ga eodi-ni? (번화가가 어디니?)
  • Formal: beonhwaga-ga eodi-yeyo? (번화가가 어디예요?), beonhwaga-ga eodi-ipnigga? (번화가가 어디입니까?)
  • Very Formal: beonhwaga-ga eodi-ipnigga? (번화가가 어디입니까?)

- where: eodi (어디), eodi-e (어디에), eodi-eseo (어디에서)
- is: itda (있다)
- downtown area: beonhwaga (번화가), sinae (시내)
