Danny Welbeck made his debut with England as an amateur under-16 in October 2005 in the Victory Shield match against Wales that England won.

In February 2009, Welbeck played for the firts time against Ecuador in the under-21 team.

Finally, in March 2011, Welbeck was called to play for England's national team in a friendly match against Ghana. In official competition, Welbeck played for the first time in a qualifier match against Montenegro in October 2011.
