How many teams take part in Tour de France 2014?

There will be 22 teams taking part in the 2014 Tour de France in total - 18 World Tour teams and 4 wildcard teams. The World Tour teams are drawn from all round the world. There are three French teams, for example, three from the USA, one from Australia, one from Russia and two from Belgium. You can see the full list here if you scroll down. The UK team will be Team Sky, the same team in which Bradley Wiggins famously won the race.
Two of the wildcard teams are also from France, which means that France will have more teams than any other country (this is usual as it is a French competition). The other two are from Germany (though this team, NetApp Endura, will actually have riders from both Germany and the UK) and Switzerland.
The Tour this year will start in the UK, in Leeds, on 5 July, and and end on 27 July in Paris.
