Although it has not been decided yet, the city of Detroit, in the United States, might host a huge zombie-apocalypse theme park, an idea developed by enterpreneur Mark Siwak. In this park, customers would pay to be chased by actors dressed like flesh-hungry zombies, just like the films.

Once booming with the prosperity of car industry, the city now is suffering the devastting effects of an economic crisis provoked by the dismantling of the city's car industry by manufacturing giants who seek to obtain cheaper production costs. As a result, large parts of the city look barren, destroyed, abandoned and derelict, which make a perfect setting for a zombie theme park.

However, there is a debate as to whether converting cities affected by economic crisis in theme parks is the best option for liveable and sustainble cities that offer meaningful prospects for a dignfied community life. Some views hold that abandoned cities should be rebuilt to offer places to live to people instead of becoming artificial, depthless theme parks with no prospects of human development.
