It has recently been announced that the official best restaurant in the world, as of 2013 is the Spanish, or rather Catalan restaurant El Celler de Can Rocha in Girona in the Catalonia region. This family restaurant has been run by the Rocha brothers since 1986 First by two brothers and now by all three), and was named one of the world's top 50 places as long ago as 2005. Since then it has grown steadily more famous and in 2012 reached world no. 2 ranking. It has 3 Michelin stars and is famous for its amazing attention to detail and the inventiveness of its cooking. All three brothers are committed to using the best and freshest of local and national produce and traditions as well as taking the best from around the world.
