Cancun is over 1,700 km from Mexico City, and is located on the northeast coast of Quintana Roo in southern Mexico. The name 'cancun' means 'nest of snakes' or 'place of golden snakes'.
It is a city founded in April 1970 by World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and now is one of the most popular tourism destination in Mexico.
