The Polaroid Instant Cameras were developed and first sold from 1948 until 2008 when the company decided to stop producing them for not being able to compete with digital photography.

Polaroid is an American company of electronics and glasses founded in 1937 by Edwin Land. For decades Polaroid was the leader in the instant camera market, even defeating Kodak in sales.
The earliest models used instant roll-film and later pack-film.

One of the most popular cameras was the SX-70, which used a square format film that contained all the components necessary to develop the photograph.
