Who invented the video camera?

It is not clear that who is the inventor of the video camera. This is because the technology is constantly developing. One great idea is built upon another one.

Louis Lumiere, a Frenchman, is usually credited as the inventor of the motion picture camera. The Scottish man John Baird is also the pioneer in capturing moving images for television production.

The first machine which can capture both moving images and sound is built by Ray Dolby, Charles Ginsberg, and Charles Anderson in 1956. The invention was sold for $75,000 US Dollars at the time.
