How do I transfer the books from my iPad to Kindle?

If you downloaded the book from Amazon then you may also be
able to read it using your Kindle (you don’t actually transfer it). However,
this only applies to Kindle books.
If you want to lend the book to a friend who has a Kindle,
then you can go to the ‘Loan a Kindle Book’ section on this page. There are
detailed instructions, but basically you go to the Kindle store where your book
is registered, click the Loan this Book button and send it to the required
email address (the personal email and not a Kindle address). Your friend at
his/her end then has to accept it within a week. The book will then be on your
friend’s Kindle or other app for two weeks, and during this time you can’t
access it as it’s on loan like a library book. You can also do this by signing
in to your Amazon account and going to the ‘Manage your Kindle’ section. If you
click the Actions button, a ‘Loan’ option will appear if the book is suitable
for lending.
You may be able to do the above using your own email address
so that you are effectively ‘lending’ the book to yourself – it would be quite
a simple way of making it available on your Kindle for two weeks. However, in
that time you couldn’t use it on your iPad, which may be a drawback.
You can also go to the Manage Your Devices section under
Manage Your Kindle and see what the options are, as new ones are being added
all the time. From this section you can also contact Amazon Help. However, you
can only register your device to one Amazon account at a time. On the other
hand, it should be possible to go to Manage Your Kindle, deactivate the device
you are using now (eg your iPad) and register your Kindle instead.
You can also register different devices with Amazon. To do
this you need to go to the Help and Customer Service section and open the
Register Your Device page. Your iPad will already be registered there. If you
have a Kindle Fire, it will already have been registered automatically along
with your iPad, and you will be able to access your book from the archive and
load it onto your Kindle Fire. If you have another kind of device, you will
need to find the 5 digit registration code and input it – you will then be able
to register it and you can use it to read any book that is in your archive. On
a Kindle, the serial number is usually on the back at the bottom – it should
also be on the packaging and is clearly labelled ‘serial number’. For any other
kind of device that you want to read books on, if you put the name of the
device and ‘find registration number’ in a search engine you should always be
able to find it.
Generally, if you have any problems with reading books on
different devices the Manage Your Kindle page is the best place to start
looking for a solution. It’s also worth looking at the forums before you go to
the Help section, as other users have often had the same problems as you and
can give the solutions more quickly. Here you will also find other information
such as how to synchronise the books so you can carry on reading in one device from where you left off in another, and so on.
