The Chinese Moon Festival, also called Mid-Autumn Festival, is written as 中秋节 in Simplified Chinese. The pronunciation is zhōng qiū jiē.

The Festival has been celebrated for over three thousand years and is one of the most important festivals in China. It was originally a harvest festival, but nowadays became a celebration for family gathering. On this day, family members are gathering together, eating moon cakes and in the evening often sitting outside enjoying the view of a full moon.
