Thomas Marth, 33, was the touring saxophonist for The Killers. He had played for the band in their last two albums, 2006's Sams Town and 2008's Day & Age.

Marth died from a self-inflicted gunshot to his head in the backyard of his house in Las Vegas. He is survived by his parents and two siblings.

For the moment, it is impossible to know exactly why Thomas decided to bring his life to an end. There's speculation about Thomas' reason for committing suicide and these have to do with depression. However, this is just speculation. His family deserves respect in these hard times and as soon as more reliable news come up in relation to this issue they will be posted here.
