The Union Jack or Union Flag is the flag of Great Britain.
It was designed in 1801 to commemorate the Union of the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Ireland.
It is formed by the red cross of Saint George (England), the white diagonal Saint Andrew's cross (Scotland) and the red diagonal Saint Patrick's cross (Ireland).
