Is the use of fireworks an attempt against animal rights?

You couldn't call it an attempt, as there is no direct
attack on animals or intent to harm them. However, animal rights groups have
sometimes been concerned about the use of fireworks as they can cause distress
and sometimes injury to animals.

The main problem is said to be the noise of fireworks - especially the more
powerful ones in use today. These noises are frightening to animals in
themselves, and also animals are sometimes injured or killed when running away
from the noise and bright lights - running across a busy road in panic, for
example.

Some charities would like to
limit the use of fireworks so they are only available for special festivals
like 5 November and New Year. However, others deny that there is such a
problem.

If you have pets it may be wise to keep them indoors on Bonfire Night, for
example - cats and dogs do sometimes get scared by the noise and run away. For
farm animals and wildlife, however, there isn't really anything you can do,
which is why some would prefer to limit the use of fireworks.
