Tenerife is one of the main islands in the archipelago of the Canary Islands, situated off the coast of Morocco in the Atlantic sea. The island is a precious gem of vulcanic and tropical landscapes.

But the island offers much more than the sun and beaches for tourists found in the southern coast of Los Gigantes and Playa de las Americas. If you want to spend your holidays surrounded by European tourists, lots of tourist-ready hotels, beaches and sun, certainly this part of the island is for you.

However, if you prefer to escape from mass tourism, you would like to visit the Teide National Park. Although full of tourists as well, the Teide is a magnificient vulcanic mountain that offers a wide range of trekking routes and fantastic scenery.

Another interesting region is the Orotava Valley, known for its wine-making tradition and its great climate, green palms, vulcanic soil. There you can scuba dive in its beautiful and unique beaches, walk, cycle and horse ride.

Finally, for a taste of a less known and more isolated area preserving an exceptional rural flavour, visit Garachico and enjoy its cobbled streets, colourfully painted houses and historic buildings.
