Ray Bradbury (born 22nd August 1922, Waukegan, Illinois) is an American science fiction and fantasy writer. His most celebrated works are The martin Chronicles (1950), The Illustrated Man (1951) and Fahrenheit 451 (1953).Bradbury as a young reader had an special predilection for authors such as Jules Verne, H. G. Wells and Edgard Rice Burroughs.
Ray Bradbury studied in Los Angeles High School but could not attend university because he didn't have money. Instead he estates that 'libraries raised him' and that he went to the library three days a week for 10 years.
Bradbury started writing short stories for pulp magazines in 1938.
in 1947 his compilation of short stories, Dark Carnival was published.
