Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "I live in Korea" in Korean in 3 ways:


Level of formality Pronunciation Korean alphabet Voice
Informal na-neun hanguk-eseo sal-a 나는 한국에서 살아
Formal jeo-neun hanguk-eseo sal-ayo 저는 한국에서 살아요
jeo-neun yeonggug-eseo sapnida 저는 한국에서 삽니다
Very formal jeo-neun hanguk-eseo salgo itseupnida. 저는 한국에서 살고 있습니다

  • I: na-neun (나는), jeo-neun (저는)
  • Korea: hanguk (한국)
  • in Korea: hanguk-eseo (한국에서)
