The world's most famous pink diamond is the Williamson Pink, a 54.5 carat flawless pink diamond. It was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II in 1947 as a wedding gift by Canadian geologist John Williamson who owns Williamson diamond mine in Tanzania where the diamond was discovered.

London diamond cutters Briefel and Lemer cut the diamond in 1948, and French Jewelry Cartier created a setting for the main 23.6 carats diamond.
