The Pangolin or Scaly Anteater is a large mammal of the order Polydoth that lives in tropical regions of Asia and Africa.
It is the only mammal that is covered with hard keratin scales and has short legs, log tail and claws that they use to break anthills and for climbing.
They don't have teeth but they use their long tongue to catch ants ad termites.
Depending of the species the Pangolin can measure from 30 to 100 cm. (12 to 39 inches).
The Pangolins are included in the Zoological Society of London's list of the genetically distinct and endangered mammals.
In Africa and China their meat is very appreciated and in the latter their scales are thought to have benefits and are used in traditional medicine.
