If we don't count the Antarctica which is also considered a desert , the Sahara is the largest desert in the World.
It covers a surface of 9.400.000 square meters (3.600.000 square miles) and is situated in North Africa.
it is bounded by Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlas Mountains, the Red Sea and the Sahel Region.
Many countries have their borders inside the desert: Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Western Sahara, Sudan, Chad, Lybia, Mali, Mauritania and Niger.
It is the hottest place on earth and mostly inhabited but there are some people that survive in the few fertile areas.
