The Bahrain GP will probably be postponed due to the unstable political situation and social unrest against King Hamad al Khalifa that affects the little kingdom.

For the last year, there have been a number of uprisings for democracy in Bahrain that have taken the lives of many people, especially young ones. Generally, the uprising is led by a majority of Shia who struggle for more political freedom and representative in a Sunni-led kingdom.

The crackdown on poltiical activists, civilians and bloggers has reprotedly been described as brutal and savage. Last years GP in Bahrain was postponed precisely because of the brutal crackdown that was taking place at the time scheduled for the race. The controversy lies in Mr. Ecclestone is maintaing talks with King Hamad to celebrate the race: Hamad might be accused of violating human rights in Bahrain because of the crackdowns.
