French kiss is a kiss that sticks your tongue into the mouth of another person. In French, it is called tongue kiss or soul kissing as it is so intense that you may exchange souls.

The term 'French Kiss' dates from the 1920s, but its not known who coined the phrase. It stems from British stereotype that the French are promiscuous or morally casual.

The phrase was considered as a slur on the French culture.
