Nexus 7 went on sale in the UK on 18 July 2012, with the 8GB version selling at £159. It is seen as a major rival to the iPad and has had very good reviews. Reviewers generally say that it doesn't actually replace the iPad, and is more of an entertainment device than a computer (though it does function as a computer) but of course it costs much less and does a lot for the money.

The Nexus 7 has attracted so much demand that at the moment (23 July) the suppliers are struggling to keep up with it. The new 16GB version is currently available in Australia, but in the UK and US sales have had to pause due to so much demand.

Google have not yet said when new stocks will be available or how long it will take to get the new version, so if you haven't ordered yours yet there may be a bit of a wait.
