Curry was first introduced to Japan by the British during the Meiji Era (1868-1912).
It is a very popular dish in Japan nowadays and has become a national dish.

It is served in 3 ways: Curry Rice, Kare Udon (Noodles) and Kare Pan (Bread).
The basic ingredients to prepare japanese curry are onions, carrots, potatoes and meat (chicken, beef or pork).
It is also very popular the Katsu-Kare, deep fried breaded pork with curry.
