Who is the director of 'The Hobbit'?

The Hobbit has two parts, which are titled as 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' and 'The Hobbit: There and Back Again'. Both are directed by New Zealand born directot Peter Jackson who also directed 'The Lord of the Rings', 'King Kong', 'The Lovely Bones' and 'Braindead' among others. Jackson is also producer and co-writer of The Hobbit.

The Hobbit is the prequel to 'The Lord of the Rings', an adaptation from J. R. R. Tolkien's novel of the same name published in 1937.

The principal photography of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey started in March 2012, and the film is expected to be released on 14th December 2012 while The Hobbit: There and Back Again is to be released on 13th December 2013.
