He is the reigning world champion, having won in 2010 and 2011, so there is every possibility that he will. He is also leading in the 2012 event so far, though this won’t finish until 25 November.

In 2010 Vettel was the youngest driver ever to win the World Drivers’ Cup at the age of 23. In 2011 he also became the youngest to win both
two championships at all and two outright. He has broken several other records including being the youngest to reach pole position; so he’s at the height of his career and it wouldn’t be surprising if he went on to break more records by winning further championships. He has also had a good year so far, apart from doing less well than expected in the Chinese Grand Prix and incurring a penalty in Spain.

It will be interesting to see if his career continues to be as spectacular as it has been so far.
