What is the purpose of the construction of the ArcelorMittal Orbit in London?

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is an observation tower built in the Olympic Park, Strattford, London to commemorate the 2012 Summer Olympics. Its main purpose to allow visitors to have a great view of the 2012 Olympic Installations.
The ArcelorMittal Orbit was designed by artist Anish Kapoor and engineer Cecil Balmond. It is made by steel and its height is 115 meters (377 feet).
The project will cost an estimate of £19 million, being funded mainly by billionaire Lakshmi Mittal, chairman of ArcelorMittal, the most important steel company in the World.
