According to Oxfam International, there are currently around 10 million olive trees in the West Bank and Gaza.

Olive trees take 45% of the entire agricultural land in Palestine and represent 20% of the Palestinian agricultural production.

Olive trees are important cultural symbols in Palestine as it represents rootedness to the land as well as economic and health benefits for the population as olive trees are at the base of much of the culinary recipes in the Middle East.
