This series about a family of mine owners in 18th century Cornwall is set to air in 2015 and most of the cast have already been chosen. The main character, Ross Poldark (played by Robin Ellis in the earlier series) will be played by Aidan Turner, and his wife Demelza (earlier played by the late Angharad Rees) will be played by Eleanor Tomlinson.
Aidan Turner is known to millions for his role as John Mitchell in Being Human, also as Dante Gabriel Rossetti in Desperate Romantics. Eleanor Tomlinson's biggest role so far is probably as Princess Isabelle in Jack the Giant Slayer from 2013.
After the problems with the BBC's Jamaica Inn (also set in Cornwall at about the same time) a lot of viewers have been asking if the actors will be speaking clearly! But the BBC have promised that they'll get it right this time and we won't miss a thing. You can learn more about the new series here.
