Beach volleyball is a tremendously famous sport and looks like a crowd favourite game this summer in the London 2012 Olympics.

Beach Volleyball became Olympic in Atlanta 1996 but its origins go far back in time. It was during the 1930's in Santa Monica (US) that this sport began to be played in Europe and in the US, especially during the depression: One of the few entertainments for people during the crisis was to go to the beach and play this sport which required little investment and preparation.
